Strength

My original post Terminal and Scared was when l was low and scared, after that it became about changing attitudes towards Diabetes, and if any one person could strengthen their resolve, and Live a longer and healthier life, my dying would somehow feel less awful, and less of a waste,

Some may doubt my honesty, or diagnosis and prognosis, this is not about that anyway, but about the cruel and terrible results of NOT controlling your diabetes, even if l had lied, the consequences of ignoring Diabetes are still be same, And as it happens I am being honest,

Believe me or not, I am dying, i have the most terrible Chronic Neuropathic Pain, im struggling to deal with it, but im here to hopefully steer people to a path that spares them the torture i have endured today,

Take Care of yourselves, please don't suffer the Consequences of not doing so !

So if you or any other reader of this blog has truthfully changed, and stick to it, Then its me that needs to THANK YOU !

Hugs.

  3. Hi Martin Mud here sorry Kev is ill at the moment so l will do a reply on his behalf. If you are on standard Metformin and it is causing stomach problems get your dr to sort slow release.
Foor wide if you click on the links down the bottom of the page they are to the diets you need to follow as a diabetic if you have no other general health conditions. LCHF also known as Low Carb High Fat.
They explain fully but my bloods (l am T2) average at around 4.5 pre meal and 6 2nrs post meal.
Since December l have lost 26kg of weight and gone from 28% body fat to 12.5%..
I am never hungry and happily stuff my face with all the nhs hates me to eat. I never touch spuds/rice/pasta/bread.
The Dietdoctor link explains things and the 2 diabetic forums are packed with low carb advice. Avoid the fancy expensive diets just eat "proper food" and you will find life a lot cheaper and easier :-)
Also if you do not have a blood monitor you need one do not let your dr or dn talk you out of it. It is you that needs to live like Kev if you do not know what your blood glucose is doing. The 2 diabetic forums are full of info again.
Blue skies and safe roads and great to have you here
